THURSDAY NIGHT KICKOFF EVENT, AUGUST 23
We are kicking off the Tweetup weekend this year a little early. Thursday night is normally "Member Night" at Burns East. This year we are combining using Member Night to kick off Tweetup weekend with a special event featuring Skip Martin of RoMa Craft Tobac.
Start time for this event is yet to be determined for this event, but 5:00 p.m. would be a safe expectation. Member night dinner is served at 7:00 and is free to Chattanooga Billiards Club/Burns Tobacconist Havana Room members. We are working on a price for our our-of-town Tweetup guests. This is going to be a great event, folks. Skip tells me he expects to be debuting the CroMagnon Acquitaine (disclaimer alert: no one can guarantee shipments of cigars from countries outside the U.S.).
FRIDAY, AUGUST 24
Burns East (110 Jordan Drive, off Shallowford) will open at 10:00 a.m. and you are welcome to show up any time after that. Plans are for event bags to be ready and waiting for anyone who has pre-bought tickets. (Go to BurnsTobacconist.com to buy yours now!) There will also be plenty of time to head down to Burns Downtown during the day; the downtown location is home to the Avo Lounge and their cigar selection will include some lines not available at Burns East.
Around 6:00 we will be heading to downtown Chattanooga to AT&T Field to watch a minor league baseball game with the Chattanooga Lookouts (AA affiliate of the L.A. Dodgers). Baseball game admission is $20 and includes all-you-can-eat burgers, hot dogs, chips, soda and ice cream, as well as $1 draft beers until the 7th inning. Tickets for this event must be purchased separately from Tweetup Package tickets; again visit BurnsTobacconist.com for tickets.
After the game, we will be heading back to Burns East for more smoking time.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 25
Again, Burns East will open at 10:00 a.m.
In the evening, dinner will be served at CBC/Burns Downtown in two shifts (dinner price is included in the Tweetup Package price, but drinks are not included). While one group is downtown eating, the other group will be participating in a liquor tasting at CBC/Burns East. The liquor tasting is sponsored (at least in part) by our friends at Chattanooga Whiskey.
After dinner, liquor tasting, and a little more time for herfing, we will wrap up the Tweetup with an After Party at Envy Ultra Lounge at an event sponsored by Nat Sherman and Burns Downtown.
All this for $45? How do we do it? (Somewhere, CBC/Burns owner Phil just answered: "Volume! Just like a fat man in a donut shop!")
